  • The Future is Here… and It’s Electric !  Everywhere we look, the world is going electric.  From Electric Vehicles (EVs), to urban air taxis, to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and commercial aircraft.  When we think of world electrification, we usually think of batteries: from batteries for our cell phones and computers, to batteries for our EVs, to batteries for storing electrical energy from wind turbines, hydroelectric power, and other sources of renewable energy.  It is true that much of the world’s power goes through batteries, but batteries are only part of the picture.

Batteries Power the World.  Mity Motors Make it Spin. In addition to batteries, we also need generators to convert wind power, hydroelectric power, and power from steam turbines, gas turbines, and internal combustion engines into electricity.  We also need motors to convert electrical power (including the stored energy in batteries) back into useful mechanical power to spin the wheels of our cars, our home appliances, propellers of our boats and aircraft, industrial machines, etc.  Motors and generators are everywhere—from the bottoms of the oceans to deep space, and everywhere between—with a global annual market of more than one trillion U.S. dollars ($1T).  Classic motors and generators changed little since the Greats Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison invented the machines back in the 1800s.  Until now.  While the world focused on developing better batteries, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)—the agency that brought us the Internet—developed revolutionary new motors and generators that are 10 times smaller and lighter and 10 times more efficient than classic motors and generators.  Now, Mity Motors, Inc. has exclusive rights to supply the revolutionary new DARPA-developed motors and generators, to make the world spin.

Mity Motors, Inc. is rapidly growing, exclusively supplying DARPA-developed electric motors and generators, in a wide range of power levels, for many diverse applications.  Please check back often and/or contact us, to get information on our latest offerings.

Electric Vehicles (EVs).  The global annual market for electric motors for Electric Vehicles (EVs) was $17.6B in 2021, and is projected to reach $25.6B by 2028.  The market is growing rapidly due to zero emissions for EVs and the many advantages electric motors have over internal combustion engines, including: smaller, lighter, less expensive, longer life, and less and cheaper maintenance.

Urban Air Taxis.  The global annual market for urban air taxis was $3.1B in 2021, and is projected to reach $9.9B by 2030.  Compact, lightweight, and efficient electric motors are critical components of urban air taxis.  The market is growing rapidly to reduce pressure on traditional modes of urban transportation and reduce emissions.

Electric and Hybrid-Electric Aircraft.  The global annual market for electric and hybrid-electric is projected to reach $200B by 2040.  Compact, lightweight, and efficient electric motors and generators are critical components of electric and hybrid-electric aircraft.  Electric and hybrid-electric aircraft have less emissions than traditional aircraft, and electrification enables design flexibility to achieve higher overall aircraft efficiencies.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).  The global annual market for UAVs is projected to grow from $26.2B in 2022 to $38.3B by 2027.  UAVs will use compact, lightweight, and efficient electric motors and generators for better aircraft performance and efficiency.

Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs).  The global annual market for UUVs is projected to grow from $2.1B in 2020 to $4.5B by 2025.  Compact, lightweight, and efficient electric motors are critical components of UUVs.

More-Electric Aircraft.  The global annual market for more-electric aircraft was $1.5B in 2020, and is projected to reach $3.3B by 2025.  More-electric aircraft replace traditional hydraulic and other mechanical components with high-performance electric components.  Compact, lightweight, and efficient electric motors are critical components of more-electric aircraft.

Power Generation and Co-Generation.  The global annual market for electric generators for power generations is projected to grow from $20B in 2022 to $27B in 2026.

Home Appliances.  The global annual market for electric motors for home appliances is projected to reach $10B by the end of 2030.

Industrial Motors.  The global annual market for industrial electric motors is projected to grow from $20B in 2020 to $23B in 2026.

Wind Turbines.  The global annual market for wind-turbine electric generators is projected to reach $10B by 2026.  Compact, lightweight, and efficient generators are critical to minimize the size and weight of the supporting structure.

Hydro-Electric Power.  The global annual market for hydro-electric power is projected to reach $320B by 2030.  Efficient electric generators convert rotational mechanical power from turbines into electrical power, and the generators represent a large fraction of the total market size.

Geothermal Energy, Including from Hydrothermal Vents.  The global annual market for geothermal energy is projected to increase from $44B in 2020 to $50B in 2027.  Compact, lightweight, and efficient electric generators are critical components of geothermal energy systems.

Spacecraft.  The global market for electric motors (including electric actuators) and generators for spacecraft is relatively small (but important), at roughly $1B.
